INSTAGRAM

I was talking last night with an awesome client with whom I’m bartering services. She said something about photography that grabbed my heart. “It makes the veil between heaven and earth thinner. We rarely get to really see ourselves, but a photographer allows us to.” (I’m paraphrasing because I’m sure those weren’t her exact words). But wow, what weight that gives to my work. ✨ I don’t think it applies only to that work which I do professionally either. I’m sure it also applies to the many shots I take of seemingly ordinary and mundane moments at home with and of my family. I hope my children will grow up looking at photographs I’ve made of them and feel SEEN, surrounded In a sacred glow that only the love of their photographer mother can Infuse into each frame. ✨ And this is why I love equipping parents to use their Big Cameras as well! Because this family historian work is sorta sacred. It’s more than a fun hobby and it’s about more than collecting facts and days of a shared life. It’s communicating essence and love and laying significance and glory over that which we often take for granted. ✨ I’m teaching a 3-hour workshop on the 24th for parents who want to technically master the use of their DSLR or mirrorless cameras... so that from there they can dive confidently into the art of it, too.
